La Casa de Loto Meditation & Yoga Retreats Colombia. A unique retreat center in the magical mountains of Colombia, founded and run by Karma Pema and his wife Maria. Here we offer you daily meditation and yoga classes, cozy accommodations, delicious vegetarian food made of fresh, local ingredients, and a variety of optional treatments. La Casa de Loto is a small Buddhist meditation and yoga retreat center nestled in the jungle-clad mountains near Medellin, Colombia. Our purpose is to guide you along a traditional path of awakening, with the support of highly experienced teachers. Here, you’ll be surrounded by the natural beauty of mountains and waters, where a vibrant flora and fauna and stunning views create a peaceful oasis, reminiscent of the Buddha’s forest retreat tradition.
We offer two types of retreats, each designed to meet different needs: one for beginners, and another for those seeking to deepen their practice. Travel from the airport usually takes around 1. 5 hours, and around 2 hours from Medellin City (el Poblado). Ideally you arrive in Guatapé a day before the retreat starts already, to make sure to get here in time for the check-in at 2pm on Fridays.
